MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

In the course of 2023-2024, our semi-industrial production unit in Leuven was designed and build. The commissioning was finalized at the beginning of this year and the first industrial volumes are successfully produced. This semi-industrial unit is used as a demonstration 'fingerprint' for future large-scale production and is built to produce a yearly output of 200 ton products.

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will take part in the production to achieve a smooth multi-ton production while closely collaborating with the Process Engineer and Senior Operator. Additionally, you will manage project work and implementations of technical/practical solutions to increase the efficiency and output of our semi-industrial unit.

With your technical knowledge, you will be the main responsible for all the equipment in the semi-industrial unit from installation to maintenance. You will implement strategies for internal and external maintenance activities and ensure that all certificates are up to date and inspections are executed in time.

YOUR ROLE

Lead process improvement projects and ensure implementation of technical and practical solutions.
Own all equipment of the semi-industrial unit from installation to preventive maintenance.
Manage and execute equipment qualification, verification and calibration.
Introduce a maintenance strategy for internal and external maintenance activities.
Take part in the daily manufacturing and support multi-shift operations if required.
Compose safety documentation like task risk assessments, work permits and LMRAs.
Close collaboration with Process Engineer and Senior Operator.
Include ergonomic improvements in optimization work.

YOUR ASSETS

You hold a master degree in Mechanical Engineering or a bachelor equivalent through experience with at least 3-8 years of experience in maintenance, operation of installations and project work.
Experience with equipment in a (petro)chemical or process industry is a must.
Passion for engineering and hands-on mentality in a scale-up environment.
You are safety conscious and familiar with VCA, work permits systems and HSE guidelines.
Good problem-solving skills.
Already build up good relationships with external technical companies.
Flexible and willingness to work in a 2-shift system if required.
