Meet Bert Gorinsek, senior operator, bringing passion and precision to zeolite modification production

We’re excited to welcome Bert as the newest addition to the Zeopore team! With a hands-on educational background in chemical process technology, Bert brings both technical depth and practical know-how to our growing operations team.

Operating and scaling production

His early career included internships at BASF and Citribel, followed by a production shift leader role at JSR Micro in Leuven. There, he helped set up and operate a new manufacturing process, which gradually increased in scale. After a successful experience there, Bert was ready for a new challenge—and that brought him to Organon and recently to Zeopore.

As a Senior Operator, Bert is closely involved in operating Zeopore’s newly built semi-industrial production facility for high-performance zeolites. Working closely alongside operations manager Leen Spooren, Bert helps to prepare and execute production runs with precision and efficiency. With Zeopore’s scaling ambitions, more operators will soon be joining the team and Bert will be there to train and guide them.

What Bert values most is being part of a full production process: from affordable base zeolite materials to porous zeolites with tuned properties leading to optimal catalytic performance. He enjoys working hands-on, “feeling” how processes function and learning how to operate and steer them.

Bert describes his position at Zeopore as ‘the job of a lifetime’, thanks to the variety it offers: “I love how my role touches many aspects: organization, lab work, planning, quality, and safety. I’m not just executing tasks, I interact with colleagues, partners, suppliers, and customers. It’s meaningful to contribute to such innovative products, which result from enhancing zeolite technologies for high catalytic performance.”

Outside of work, Bert is just as dynamic. A devoted family man, he loves cooking for his wife and their young son and daughter. He’s also a frequent gym-goer and an enthusiastic DIYer who enjoys repairing and installing things around the house. “For me, finding a job close to home that fits me so perfectly is a win on every level!”
