We’re proud to share that Zeopore Technologies has been nominated for the 2025 edition of the essenscia Innovation Award, Belgium’s premier prize for industrial innovation in the chemistry, plastics and life sciences sector. This nomination reflects not only our technological progress, but also our ambition to scale circular, low-carbon chemistry worldwide.

Why the nomination matters for Zeopore
Being nominated places Zeopore among the most impactful, future-oriented innovations in Belgium, and beyond on a worldwide scale. It demonstrates that our work in mesoporous zeolite catalysts and circular waste-to-chemicals processes meets the high standards of industrial relevance, sustainability and value creation that the award celebrates.
Our technology perfectly aligns with these benchmarks: by converting zeolites into high-performance catalysts that support both established refining and emerging circular chemistry, we contribute to the transition toward renewable feedstocks and lower-carbon production.
It also emphasizes Zeopore’s international relevance: while Belgium may not always be top of mind for global audiences, the Belgian chemical-innovation ecosystem is world-class. Being nominated in Belgium’s top innovation competition is a signal to international partners and investors that we are a credible player in the global market.
What is the essenscia Innovation Award?
The award is organised by essenscia, the Belgian federation for chemistry and life sciences, and is widely recognized as the top industrial innovation accolade in Belgium. It aims to spotlight breakthrough innovations that combine scientific excellence with industrial impact, sustainable development, and economic contribution. The 2025 edition emphasizes projects that drive the twin transition: making chemistry both climate-neutral and circular.
Winners benefit not just from prestige: they gain visibility within the industry network, dedicated media coverage, and support for intellectual-property strategy.
What the jury looks for
The key criteria include:
Industrial application: The innovation must have a clear link to chemistry, materials or life sciences, and show potential for value creation in Belgium’s economy.
Sustainable development: A meaningful contribution toward circularity, climate mitigation or resource efficiency is essential.
Intellectual property & strategy: A robust IP strategy (patents, trademarks, know-how) strengthens the submission.
Innovation maturity: Proof of concept, operational scalability and market readiness weigh heavily.
Because Belgian chemistry is among the most innovation-intensive in Europe, the competition is tough.
What’s next?
The finalist companies and winner will be announced at the award ceremony on 25 November 2025 in Brussels, in the presence of HRH Princess Astrid.
In the meantime, we are busy scaling our technology, forging corporate partnerships and expanding our global footprint. Whether we win or not, being nominated is already a strong endorsement of our strategy and technology.
Thank you
We would like to thank our team, research partners and customers for their dedication, and essenscia for highlighting innovation that drives sustainability and circular economy. We look forward to what the future holds.
